Resumen:	Se realizó una evaluación técnica y financiera, para el rediseño de un fluido de perforación base sintética. Este estudio se realizó en perforaciones exploratorias en aguas profundas de la Cuenca del Sinú Costa Afuera para las secciones con conductor (Riser). Para ello, se estudiaron las generalidades geológicas de la cuenca, tales como: historia, localización, estratigrafía, las características principales de las formaciones; historial de producción y las condiciones y riesgos que implica la perforación de un pozo con una ventana operativa reducida; cambios drásticos que experimentan determinadas propiedades entre la superficie, el lecho marino y el objetivo (Target); y las propiedades específicas de diferentes compuestos o aditivos para mejorar el fluido de perforación para que cumpla satisfactoriamente con todos los retos a los que se enfrenta y así realizar la operación de perforación con el mayor éxito posible.
Abstract:	A technical and financial evaluation was carried out for the redesign of a synthetic base drilling fluid. This study was carried out in deepwater exploratory drillings of the Sinú Costa Afuera Basin for the conduct sections (Riser). For this, the geological generalities of the basin were studied, such as: history, location, stratigraphy, the main characteristics of the formations; history of production and the conditions and risks involved in drilling a well with a reduced operating window; drastic changes that experience certain properties between the surface, the seabed and the target; and the specific properties of different compounds or additives to improve the drilling fluid so that it satisfactorily meets all the challenges it faces and thus perform the drilling operation with the greatest possible success.
