Resumen: | La alta cantidad de residuos de banano que se producen en Colombia y que son desaprovechados, termina siendo un problema para las zonas productoras del país. Diversas alternativas se han evaluado para su aprovechamiento, sin que hasta el momento se haya definido una de ellas. Mediante la ejecución de este proyecto, se evaluó la producción de hidrógeno, como alternativa energética, mediante la fermentación empleando Clostridium butyricum a partir de los residuos sólidos de cáscara de banano. En primera instancia se realizó la recolección, pre-tratamiento y caracterización de la biomasa residual. La cáscara fue lavada y secada para ser molida y tamizada con el fin de la adecuación y selección del tamaño de partícula apropiado para la fermentación. Se realizó un análisis de SEM para determinación de morfología y corroboración del tamaño de partícula obtenida. La biomasa recolectada fue caracterizada en cuanto a contenido de celulosa (8.64%), hemicelulosa (14.16%), lignina (9.76%) y CHONS (39.37%, 5.67%, 39.37%, 1.2%, 0.11% respectivamente). |
Abstract: | The high amount of banana waste that is produced in Colombia and is wasted ends up being a problem for the producing areas of the country. Various alternatives have been evaluated for use, without so far one of them has been defined. Through the execution of this project, hydrogen production, as an energy alternative, was evaluated by fermentation using Clostridium butyricum from solid banana peel residues. In the first instance, the collection, pre-treatment and characterization of the residual biomass was carried out. The peel was washed and dried to be ground and sieved in order to adapt and select the appropriate particle size for fermentation. An SEM analysis was performed to determine morphology and corroboration of the particle size obtained. The biomass collected was characterized in terms of cellulose content (8.64%), hemicellulose (14.16%), lignin (9.76%) and CHONS (39.37%, 5.67%, 39.37%, 1.2%, 0.11% respectively). |
