Resumen: | En este proyecto se pretende realizar una propuesta para la producción de biodiesel tomando la borra de café como materia prima, analizando las características del proceso de producción mediante el uso un análisis bibliográfico y se realiza un análisis para la purificación del biodiesel obtenido con el uso del software de simulación Aspen Plus V9, para ello se estudian y comparan diferentes procesos. La borra de café es uno de los principales residuos generados por la industria del café liofilizado, en los últimos años se ha estado investigando su aprovechamiento para la elaboración de varios productos principalmente se ha estado estudiando su uso como materia prima para la elaboración de biocombustibles. La borra de café tiene un contenido lipídico aproximado de 14% por ende en muchas ocasiones se realiza la extracción de su aceite para la elaboración de biodiesel. Mediante un análisis bibliográfico se encontraron diferente proceso para la transesterificación de la borra de café, entre ellos destacan la transesterificación in-situ y la transesterificación homogénea básica con diferentes condiciones de operación. A partir del análisis bibliográfico de las características de la borra de café y su aceite se escogió una transesterificación homogénea básica con una relación de metanol/aceite de 6:1 y un catalizador de NaOH. |
Abstract: | This project intends to make a proposal for the production of biodiesel taking coffee grounds as raw material, analyzing the characteristics of the production process through the use of a bibliographic analysis and an analysis is carried out for the purification of the biodiesel obtained with the use of simulation software Aspen Plus V9, for which different processes are studied and compared. Coffee grounds are one of the main residues generated by the freeze-dried coffee industry, in recent years their use has been investigated for the production of various products, mainly their use as a raw material for the production of biofuels has been studied. Coffee grounds have an approximate lipid content of 14%, therefore, on many occasions, the extraction of its oil is carried out for the production of biodiesel. Through a bibliographic analysis, different processes were found for the transesterification of coffee grounds, among them the in-situ transesterification and the basic homogeneous transesterification with different operating conditions. From the bibliographical analysis of the characteristics of the coffee grounds and its oil, a basic homogeneous transesterification was chosen with a methanol/oil ratio of 6:1 and a NaOH catalyst. |
