Abstract: | In Colombia there is a population of approximately seven million domestic animals for which different buildings opted for veterinary use in order to supply temporary shelter, medical attention and/or adoption. Although most domestic animals live within a human family nucleus that can meet their needs, many species lack this privilege and, on the contrary, have been mistreated and abandoned on public roads, generating greater demand for the care and protection of these living beings. The Biocentro Animal project is developed to generate a new public facility of a veterinary nature in an urban context in the city of Bogotá in response to the high demand for the shelter, entertainment, education and welfare of domestic animals through spatial biomimetics, the ethology and a multiple architectural program. |
