Resumen: | El presente trabajo de grado, tuvo como propósito desarrollar una propuesta de pre tratamiento para el Ftalato de sodio en la empresa IQN S.A.S. Para dar cumplimiento a este objetivo se realizó un diagnóstico del estado actual del proceso en el cual se produce ácido ftálico a partir de Ftalato de sodio impuro (SAP), en el cual se determinó que la causa principal del bajo porcentaje de pureza obtenido (88,76%) es debido a la materia prima utilizada (SAP). Éste valor se halló mediante una cromatografía liquida por HPLC y posteriormente se procedió a evaluar un método de separación para el Ftalato de sodio por medio de pruebas de solubilidad en agua y etanol con el fin de conocer el comportamiento del SAP en cada uno de estos solventes, identificando que es totalmente soluble en agua y poco soluble en etanol; adicional a estos tratamientos se llevó a cabo pruebas de coagulación variando la acidez de la solución, encontrando que a un pH de 6 precipita mayor cantidad de impurezas suspendidas en la solución. |
Abstract: | This research had as purpose a pre-treatment proposal for sodium phthalate in the company IQN S.A.S. In order to comply with this objective, a diagnosis was made of the current state of the process in which phthalic acid is produced from impure sodium phthalate (SAP), in which it was determined that the main cause of the low percentage of purity obtained (88 , 76%) is due to the raw material used (SAP). This value was found by HPLC liquid chromatography and a separation method for sodium phthalate was then evaluated by means of water and ethanol solubility tests in order to know the behavior of the SAP in each of these solvents , Identifying that it is totally soluble in water and little soluble in ethanol; In addition to these treatments, coagulation tests were carried out by varying the acidity of the solution, finding that at a pH of 6 it precipitates a greater amount of impurities suspended in the solution. |
