Resumen: | En el presente trabajo se evaluó el desempeño de una arcilla organofilica en dos tipos de lodo base aceite (OBM) modificando una arcilla bentonítica con dos tipos de amonios cuaternarios, puesto que las arcillas de tipo montmorillonítico, originalmente hidrofílicas cuando se tratan con sales de amonio cuaternario se transforman en organofílicas, lo cual les permite producir fenómenos tixotrópicos, viscosos y gelificantes en diferentes campos de la industria. La arcilla organofilica se sintetizó por un método en el cual se hace una dispersión de agua desionizada junto a la bentonita y posteriormente se le añade el amonio cuaternario (Cloruro de benzalconio, Amonio cuaternario de quinta generación) lo que permite un intercambio iónico. |
Abstract: | In the present work, the performance of an organophilic clay in two types of oil-based mud (OBM) was evaluated by modifying a bentonite clay with two types of quaternary ammoniums, since clays of the montmorillonite type, originally hydrophilic when treated with ammonium salts quaternary are transformed into organophilic, which allows them to produce thixotropic, viscous and gelling phenomena in different fields of industry. The organophilic clay was synthesized by a method in which a dispersion of deionized water is made together with the bentonite and later the quaternary ammonium (benzalkonium chloride, fifth generation quaternary ammonium) is added, which allows ion exchange. |
